The Second Act

This body of work considers what remains of the dancer after leaving performance. Drawing on my experience of classical ballet, I examine the ways repetition, discipline and the pursuit of physical perfection continue to shape the body beyond the stage.

Through sculpture, installation and performance, I explore the tension between the idealised image of the ballerina and the physical labour that sustains it. Theatrical structures and objects become sites where the body can be reconstructed, transformed and understood beyond its original function.
